31 people have 'starved to death' in Syrian town
The Syrian government has agreed to allow aid into the town of Madaya.
The UN World Food Programme has said trucks could begin to arrive by Monday.
31 people are reported to have starved to death in the Syrian town of Madaya in recent weeks.
The town is under siege and aid agencies have been prevented from delivering food there since October 1.
Now images of starving children have emerged from Madaya displaying the extent of the crisis there.
Michael Hoffman of Médecins Sans Frontières has said people in the town are in desperate need of help: “Three months without any kind of supplies,
“The town is completely out of food and medicine and also fuel and firewood to warm themselves because the winter conditions are quite harsh at the moment.”
