Electricity prices will rise by 29 per cent, while gas prices will increase by 39 per cent based on average usage.

Electricity credit

Customers can expect to get an additional electricity credit before Christmas, Minister for the Environment Eamon Ryan has said.

In April, a €200 electricity credit was applied to each household as part of measures announced by the Government to help people grapple with the rising cost of living.

Speaking to reporters after the conclusion of Cabinet on Wednesday, Mr Ryan said that there would be another such support before the end of the year.
