VIDEO: Rise of the Tomb Raider graphics comparison

Rise of the Tomb Raider has just released, and reviews are starting to flood the net.

The latest adventure starring Lara Croft is a console exclusive for Microsoft, meaning its only on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 for the moment, with a PC release in early 2016 and a PS4 launch at the end of next year. Both consoles will be aiming to deliver the same game but with two massively different consoles that's going to be difficult, especially working on the much older Xbox 360.

A company called Nixxes software has been tasked with creating the Xbox 360 version of the game, they've got experience in conversions on the likes of 2013s Thief and 2011s Tomb Raider. This new video shows off the differences between the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of Rise of the Tomb Raider.

While the complexity of the scenes on the Xbox One is obviously higher, the 360 version looks great for a brand new game running on a console that's almost a decade old. More importantly, frame rates look pretty consistent in the scenes that are shown and the gameplay looks the same across the two generations, which is what fans will really be hoping for. In a world where the lastest Call of Duty didn't even bother shipping a single player campaign to older gen releases this is quite refreshing.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is out on the 10th of November 2015 on Xbox One and Xbox 360.
