A dual-arm robot made its orchestral debut by conducting an orchestra after only a couple of days' training.
YuMi is the world's first "truly collaborative dual-arm robot" according to Swiss technology manufacturer ABB, and the robot showcased its maneuverability by joining Andrea Bocelli and the Lucca Philharmonic Orchestra at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa, Italy yesterday.
The sold-out theatre also was treated to a performance of "La Donna è Mobile" from Verdi's Rigoletto by famous Italian tenor Bocelli.
