SSE Airtricity League round-up: Galway bring Dundalk back to earth with a bump
Champions League heroes Dundalk suffered from their midweek exploits tonight as they were beaten 1-0 away to Galway United,

Dundalk did come close at the end to an equalizer as a Ciaran Kilduff header from a corner whizzed over the crossbar in the final minute.
The result now gives Cork City the chance to go level on points at the top with Dundalk should they win their two games in hand - although Dundalk hold a vastly superior goal difference.
Elsewhere in the top flight, there were wins for Bohemians, Shamrock Rovers and Sligo Rovers.
Second half goals from Jake Kelly and Ismahil Akinade handed Bohemians a 2-0 victory over Finn Harps at Dalymount Park, while Shamrock Rovers were pushed all the way by a game Longford Town in a 2-1 home triumph.
Sligo Rovers scored the night’s most emphatic win, battering Wexford Youths 5-0 away at Ferrycarrig Park.
Kieran Sadlier netted twice late for Sligo, adding to earlier goals from Raffaele Cretaro, Daniel Kearns and Achille Campion.
Finally, Derry City and St Patricks Athletic shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Brandywell.
Rory Patterson’s 10th minute goal for Derry was cancelled out 13 minutes later by Keith Treacy’s strike.
