Celtic midfielder Paul Lambert faces a further anxious wait on his fitness for the Scottish Cup final after today’s results on his injured ankle proved inconclusive.
The Scotland international was forced to limp out of the 1-1 draw with Rangers on Sunday after sustaining the injury in the first half.
But scans today have failed to reveal the exact nature of the problem which leaves Lambert and Hoops manager Martin O’Neill sweating on his fitness for the Hampden Park showdown against the Ibrox side on May 4.
The scans will now be repeated on Friday as the club attempt to ascertain the full extent of the problem.
