David de Gea returned to a Manchester United starting line-up showing 10 changes from the weekend for tonight’s Champions League encounter with CFR Cluj at Old Trafford.
Only two-goal Wayne Rooney kept his place from the team that defeated Reading 4-3, after which Alex Ferguson labelled United’s defending comical.
Scott Wootton, Nick Powell and Alex Buttner were also involved, with Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Robin van Persie and Michael Carrick amongst those not even asked to sit on the bench.
Skipper Nemanja Vidic missed out, as expected.
