Paris St Germain coach Vahid Halilhodzic has warned Manchester United they will not get highly-rated defender Gabriel Heinze on the cheap.
The Argentinian is known to want to leave the Parisians and was extremely unhappy when the club rejected Barcelona’s bid last year.
Nevertheless, he went on to play a large part in what proved a good season for PSG last term, helping his side qualify for next season’s Champions League and win the Coupe de France.
Now United are keen on the 26-year-old, although Halilhodzic has warned them they will have to cough up a big fee.
“We are now waiting for Manchester to make a bid,” said Halilhodzic.
“We are determined to sell Heinze as expensively as possible because he had a big season, probably his best season.
“He is also well paid at PSG and he has got a very big potential. Why we should sell at a low price?
“On the pitch Heinze is a fighter, he is a winner, but in life, he is rebellious,” added the Bosnian boss.
“It was not easy every day with him but I am the coach and I don’t have to justify my choices.
“There is no problem, I know how to do the job.”
