Fulham striker Brian McBride has signed a one-year contract extension.

The United States international’s current deal was set to expire in the summer but the 33-year-old will remain at Craven Cottage for a further 12 months after signing a new contract.

The American boasts a record of 24 goals in 50 starts for the Cottagers and is enjoying an excellent season under Chris Coleman, having scored 10 goals so far.

Coleman told the club’s website, www.fulhamfc.com: “I am delighted that we have secured the services of Brian for a further season.

“I cannot speak highly enough about the player who has probably been one of our most impressive and consistent this season.

“Brian is a consummate professional who always gives 100% whether it’s on the training pitch or in a game, and it’s a pleasure to have him in my squad.”
