Mick McCarthy's future as Ireland manager looks increasingly doubtful today following his side's 2-1 defeat at the hand of Switzerland last night.
Hakan Yakin put the visitors ahead just before half-time, but Ireland drew level on 77 minutes thanks to an own goal from Ludovic Magnin.
However, the Swiss restored their lead nine minutes later when substitute Fabio Celestini scored just minutes after being brought onto the field.
The defeat leaves Ireland without a win after two games in the Euro 2004 qualifiers and leaves a huge question mark over Mick McCarthy's position as manager.
The supporters booed his team off the pitch at the end of the game, but McCarthy insisted that he has no plans to resign.
"I'm not going to walk away from it," he said. "I'll walk away from here with my head held high and my chin out and my chest out because I've always done my best and nothing and nobody, whatever's said, will change that."
