Kilkenny cause upset defeating Longford
First Division Kilkenny provided the first shock of FAI Cup third round to beat Longford 1-0 at Buckley Park.
Having run the game from the start Town were caught cold at the back when Cats stole the lead on 36 minutes for what proved the only goal of the game.
Stephen Murphy played a one-two with Donal Golden to hit a left-footed shot into the bottom corner of Stephen O'Brien's net.
Town almost snatched an equaliser with the final kick of the game but Cats keeper David O'Neill made a great save from Sean Prunty to secure their place in the last eight.
