Ireland's Chris Hughton picks up February's Manager of the Month

Former Ireland player and current Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month for February.

Hughton's side have been high-flying since they won promotion to England's top tier and he has guided The Seagulls to an unbeaten month.

Albion had wins over West Ham and Swansea, scoring seven goals in those victories, in between earning a point away from home against Stoke.

Speaking on the club's website, Hughton said: "It’s a great achievement for the club and certainly for a group of players that have improved as the season has gone on.

It’s confidence that’s built up through the season, and it’s a good period to have what is our best run of form. We’ve got momentum at the moment, and we also look like scoring goals.

Hughton's side brought their good form into March when they beat Arsenal 2-1 bringing them to 10th in the table. They will be looking for more success against Everton on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Liverpool star Mo Salah has picked up the Player of the Month award.

The Egyptian has been in blistering form all season and scored four goals in February, as Liverpool earned seven points from three games.

"It’s nice to win it again for the second time," Salah told the Liverpool's website.

"That’s something good, but in the end I say I always try to help us to reach the three points and be in a better position, that’s the most important thing. But it’s something individual, this award, and it’s nice to win it again."

Salah is currently joint top goalscorer in the Premier League alongside Harry Kane, having scored 24 goals so far.
