David Forde was handed a fourth senior cap for the Republic of Ireland against Greece tonight after Keiren Westwood was forced to withdraw through injury.
The 33-year-old Millwall keeper was this afternoon drafted into a starting line-up which also included youngsters Ciaran Clark, James McCarthy, James McClean and Robbie Brady as manager Giovanni Trapattoni handed a new generation of players a chance to impress.
Celtic striker Georgios Samaras, one of the heroes of the Champions League victory over Barcelona, captained a Greece side which currently sits joint top of World Cup qualifying group G.
