All games set to take place this weekend in the SSE Airtricity League are being closely monitored due to the Status Red warning issued by Met Eireann.
The Football Association of Ireland has been working closely with all clubs throughout the week to receive regular updates on facilities, safety around the stadiums, and the condition of the pitches.
The FAI said in a statement that it, along with clubs, will monitor the situation over the next 24 hours and a statement will be issued to notify supporters should a decision be taken to postpone any and all games.
In the Premier Division, there are four games on Friday night with Bohemians travelling to Cork City, Bray Wanderers hosting Waterford, Dundalk visiting Derry City at the Brandywell and St. Pat's playing Sligo Rovers at Richmond Park.
The First Division also has four games: Athlone Town v Cabinteely, Shelbourne v Drogheda United, Finn Harps v Longford Town and Wexford v U.C.D.
On Saturday Shamrock Rovers must travel to Limerick for their Premier Division clash, while the First Division sees Cobh Ramblers host Galway United.
