Shamrock Rovers made it three matches on the spin without a win to let Shelbourne open up a two point gap at the top of the table.

Rovers played the better football but were ultimately frustrated as St. Pat's held out for a draw.

Shane Robinson came closest to winning it for Rovers but his 75th minute shot came back off a post.

Midfielder Robinson then had appeals for a penalty waved away by Dublin referee Hughie Byrne in the final minute.
