Chelsea defender Gary Cahill believes a goalless draw was a fair result as Arsenal and the Blues both wasted the chance to boost their Champions League claims at the Emirates Stadium.
The third-placed Gunners hit the woodwork twice through Robin van Persie and Laurent Koscielny, but could not get the better of Petr Cech as the hosts edged six points clear of Tottenham having played two games more.
Chelsea remain sixth in the table with just four games remaining, but Cahill had few complaints about his team’s performance.
“It was a good result and a good point for us,” he told Sky Sports 2.
“Any time you come here, it’s a good result. It was an early kick-off today and we only had a couple of days to rest up after the Barca game, but we did okay today, had one or two chances and they did as well so it was a fair result.
“Both defences were tight and it was cagey. We had one or two chances and perhaps the final ball on both teams lacked a bit, but a point is great result.”
Cahill’s thoughts then quickly turned to the second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday at the Nou Camp.
“This result keeps the momentum going and the results going,” he said.
“Now the rest is more important than the training, and we have to put our legs up for what will be a massive game.”
