It finished 0-0 between Brighton and Newcastle, and Fulham's trip to Wolves also ended goalless.

Wexford Youths have the chance to cut Shelbourne's lead at the top of Women's National League to five points this evening.

To do that, they need a win over Galway, but it's currently scoreless at Eamonn Deacy Park.

Leaders Shelbourne had a 4-0 win over Treaty United at Tolka Park this afternoon.

Elsewhere, Bohemians got the better of Sligo Rovers 2-0, DLR Waves and Peamount United finished 1-1 while Athlone are currently second thanks to a 2-1 win over Cork City.

Antrim were crowned the All-Ireland Ladies Football Junior champions this evening.

Cathy Carey scored two goals for the Saffrons as they got the better of Fermanagh at the second time of asking.

Rowing

Ireland has secured a silver medal in the Women's Four at the European Rowing Championships in Munich.

Natalie Long, Aifric Keogh, Tara Hanlon and Eimear Lambe were a length behind the boat of Great Britain with Romania in third place.

Fiona Murtagh and Emily Hegarty were fourth in the Women's Pair final.

Swimming

Mona McSharry finished fifth in the final of the Women's 100-metre breaststroke at the European Championships in Rome this evening.

Danielle Hill was sixth in her group and 11th overall in the 50m backstroke semi-final just missing out on a place in the finals.

Meanwhile, Darragh Greene was one second outside the qualifying time for the 200m backstroke finals.

The Longford native ended up 13th after today's session.
