The Ulster medical and management staff will be keeping a close eye on the progress of a number of injured players ahead of Saturday’s Heineken Cup semi-final against Edinburgh in the Aviva Stadium (5.45pm).

Paddy Wallace and Pedrie Wannenburg are among the latest injury worries for Brian McLaughlin with both players being forced off in last weekend’s RaboDirect PRO12 clash against Leinster.

Wallace complained of a temporary visual disturbance caused by a migraine while Wannanburg sustained a groin problem which has since responded well to treatment.

It is expected that both Wallace and Wannenburg will be available for the Edinburgh game but the province is still awaiting a final decision on the fitness of Chris Henry and Paul Marshall.

Henry sustained an ankle sprain which is subject to ongoing treatment and reassessment but at this stage he is not ruled out of contention.

Scrum half Marshall continues to receive treatment for the injury to his right elbow sustained in the recent match against Connacht and reassessment is ongoing.
