Ulster head coach Jono Gibbes takes job in New Zealand

It's been confirmed that Ulster head coach Jono Gibbes is returning to New Zealand.

Gibbes will return to Hamilton side Waikato as head coach for the 2018 Mitre Ten Cup.

Gibbes captained the side during a 7-year spell from 2000.

“For me, it is an honour to have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of previous Waikato coaches, who all contributed to the proud history of the province,” said Gibbes.

“With the opportunity comes the responsibility to do the colours justice. That has to be the first objective for myself and for the 2018 team.”
