Mixed injury news for Leinster

Having missed out on Friday night’s win over Cardiff Blues, Leinster’s Heinke van der Merwe and Fionn Carr look set to return to the squad this week - but Isa Nacewa is facing more time on the sidelines.

Both Carr and van der Merwe were late withdrawal’s from Friday’s match day squad after being rested to recover from minor knocks, but management are confident that both he and winger Carr will be available for the visit of Treviso this weekend.

The Leinster squad trained in UCD on Monday afternoon as they started their on-field preparations for Saturday night’s clash against the Italian side.

Isa Nacewa missed the victory in Wales at the weekend with a recurrence of an arm injury sustained in January and is unlikely to be involved this weekend.

The Leinster medical team report no major fresh injury concerns for the province arising from Friday night’s 26-11 victory over the Blues.

Ian Madigan is in line to make his 70th appearance in Leinster colours if he features this weekend while Ireland international Rhys Ruddock is one cap away from reaching the half century appearance milestone.

The management expect the return of a number of players who have had limited game time after their involvement with the Ireland Six Nations squad in recent weeks.
