Nigel Brady comes in for Stuart Philpott in the only change to Ulster's 25-man squad to play Gloucester in their opening game of the Heineken Cup campaign at Ravenhill on Friday.

There are no other surprises, as Kieron Dawson has recovered from being stretchered off against Glasgow last week.

Ulster coach Mark McCall said: "Kieron's injury is not as serious as we had first thought, he is not definitely ruled out, but we will continue to assess him.

"Obviously Gloucester are riding high in the Guinness Premiership and are having a strong season so far. They have one of the strongest squads in European rugby and are always formidable opponents."

McCall will name his starting line up at noon on Thursday.
