Head coach Bernard Jackman has parted company with Grenoble with immediate effect, according to French media reports, .
A press conference is due to be held at 1pm (12 noon Irish time) to confirm the news.
Le Dauphine reported that club officials met with Jackman and stated their intention to dismiss him at the end of the season. However, Jackman decided to resign rather than work under those conditions.
Grenoble had looked likely to be relegated, as they’re currently second from bottom of the Top 14 and 13 points away from safety, but a merger between Racing 92 and Stade Francais may hand them a reprieve should they finish 13th.
Jackman’s assistant coaches, former Leinster hooker Arron Dundon and ex-Munster scrum-half Mike Prendergast, are set to take charge of the club until the end of the season.
