Anthony Foley 'died of pulmonary oedema'
A French coroner's report has found that Anthony Foley died following an acute pulmonary oedema caused by a heart rhythm disorder, it has been reported.
The condition causes excess fluid to collect in air sacs (alveoli) in the lungs, resulting in breathing difficulties.
The Irish Times also reports that a burial permit has been issued by the French authorities, which is set to be delivered to Irish Embassy in Paris tonight.
Toxicological analyses remain to be completed, with results due over the coming weeks.
The Munster and Ireland rugby legend was found dead in his hotel room in Paris on Sunday.
