World champions New Zealand ruthlessly took Wales apart at the Millennium Stadium, but their superb display was marred by an act of thuggery from hooker Andrew Hore.

Tries from Liam Messam, Tony Woodcock and Luke Romano, plus 18 points from the boot of fly-half Aaron Cruden helped the visitors to hand Wales the heaviest home defeat of Warren Gatland’s reign.

Scott Williams and Alex Cuthbert got consolation scores for the Six Nations champions, who lost Bradley Davies, Aaron Jarvis and Jamie Roberts to injury during the opening quarter.

Davies lasted less than two minutes after being felled by an ugly blow from behind by Hore. The incident was missed by the officials but citing commissioner Mike Rafter is likely to take a dim view.
