Saturday’s meeting at Warwick has been abandoned due to frost.

Clerk of the course Andrew Morris called an 8.30am inspection due to the frozen ground but despite milder temperatures overnight, he did not see the necessary improvement in the ground.

He said: “We have abandoned the meeting as although the temperature did not drop as low as forecast last night, we have not seen the significant improvement we needed.

“The frost is extremely deep into the ground and there is little chance of it coming out this close to the meeting.

“We are forecast minus four tonight and plus two degrees for tomorrow but even if that forecast is wrong, we would still be struggling.”
