Frenchman Laurent Jalabert stormed clear to win the seventh stage of the Tour de France on Bastille Day.
The CSC-Tiscali rider, who also won the fourth stage, is now second in the overall rankings after finishing 11 seconds ahead of Credit Agricole’s Jens Voigt, who takes the yellow jersey.
Voigt’s team-mate Stuart O’Grady, who led the Tour at the start of today’s stage from Strasbourg to Colmar, finished in the main peloton that came home four minutes and 28 seconds behind Jalabert.
