Jessica Harrington has delivered an upbeat bulletin on Moscow Flyer ahead of the Paddy Power Dial-a-Bet Chase at Leopardstown next Tuesday.
The 11-year-old will be put through his paces on Thursday with a last piece of serious work before the Christmas feature at the Irish venue.
Moscow Flyer, who missed last month’s William Hill – Tingle Creek Chase after scoping dirty, will be bidding to get his career back on track in the Grade One feature after tasting defeat over fences on his last two outings.
Harrington expressed her delight at Moscow Flyer’s progress since that Tingle Creek setback and is confident her stable star can rediscover his old sparkle at Leopardstown.
“He seems in good form,” said Harrington. “He did a breeze at the Curragh on Monday and we are happy with him,” the County Kildare handler told At The Races.
“Barry (Geraghty) is going to ride him and do a bit of work tomorrow so we will know a bit more then.
“We thought he was reaching the veteran stage last year but he kept surprising us all. This year he hasn’t been 100% and maybe it’s been that and a bit of old age.
“All being well we’ll run him on Tuesday and we’ll be a bit wiser – as of this moment I’m happy with him.”
