Christie feels the team needs to take their chances after disappointing against Georgia and Serbia.

"We know should have done better," says the Middlesbrough full-back.

"The Serbia result, I think on the night we were the better team and we maybe should have won. We had a few chances and it didn't quite fall for us.

"We obviously have to move on from there and we have to learn from our mistakes and we have to go into these two games full of confidence."

Christie said the team needs to be more ruthless than in previous fixtures.

"We just need to more ruthless, have more confidence with the ball and stick to the gameplan.

"We know we were poor in Georgia but it was a game we probably still could have won with the chances we had," he added.

Christie said three points were the most important thing against Moldovia but a good performance would boost their confidence ahead of the trip to Wales.

Earlier this week Wales were dealt a blow with the news the Gareth Bale had pulled out of the squad with injury, but Daryl Horgan echoed Roy Keane sentiments, that Wales are a lot more then just one player.

"Wales have a very good squad," said the Preston North End winger.

"They have a lot of very good players playing, most of them playing in the Premier League at a good level.

"He [Bale] is a very good player, we all know that, but they're still going to be very, very strong.

"You can't really worry about it. He's not playing - it doesn't really matter. They're still going to be very good, it's still going to be a tough game," Horgan said.

The squad trained earlier today with everyone taking part, meaning manager Martin O'Neill has a fully fit squad to choose from.

Ireland host Moldova in the Aviva Stadium on Friday, October 6 before travelling to Cardiff to take on Wales on Monday, October 9.
