Jos Verstappen has apologised to Williams' Juan Pablo Montoya for taking him out of the Brazilian Grand Prix.

The Arrows driver was hit with a 15,000 US dollar fine for the incident which ended the Colombian's race on lap 39 at Interlagos.

Verstappen let Montoya lap him at turn three before crashing into the rear of the then race-leader's car.

And the Dutchman admitted after being hit with the fine: "I am very, very sorry."

F1 rookie Montoya was philosophical and commented: "It was going to be one of the best days of my life and it turned unluckily into a bad one."
