Fontwell given go-ahead

This afternoon’s meeting at Fontwell has survived an early-morning inspection and goes ahead as planned.

Clerk of the course Ed Arkell needed to check conditions following unexpected heavy rain late on Christmas Eve.

Six millimetres of rain on Christmas Day morning did not help the situation, but it has been dry since then and Arkell was happy with what he saw upon inspection.

The going is heavy, with racing due to start at 12.20pm.
