Dublin 2-13

Tyrone 1-11

Dublin maintained their unbeaten start to the Allianz Football League, staging a strong second half display to have five points to spare in this Division 1 clash at Healy Park, Omagh.

The visitors were down to 14 men from the 45th minute, after Niall Scully was sent off, but they just held Tyrone to four points in the second half - all in the closing 10 minutes.

Tyrone started strongly, but Dublin slowly crept into this game, taking the lead for the first time in the 42nd minute, thanks to a Brian Fenton score, and never looking back.

Dublin were handed a numerical disadvantage soonafter, with Scully dismissed after picking up a second yellow card.

However, Jim Gavin's side grew in confident, with Tyrone amassing some bad wides, and Stephen Cluxton also denying Connor McAliskey of a goal chance.

The hosts failed to score from the 38th minute until the 63rd minute, but Dublin also found scores hard to comeby, however the Metropolitans got them when it mattered most.

Mickey Harte couldn't have been more happier with his sides start to this game, as they led by 1-1 to 0-0 after just four minutes, with Cathal McShane registering both scores.

McShane pointed after just 13 seconds, but an indicator of something which was to haunt Tyrone later on, was that two quick wides followed - the Red Hands would have 13 missed opportunities by the full-time whistle.

Poor shot selection was also a factor at times, but this would be more prevalent later on.

McShane's goal arrived after he sent a low shot to the left corner past Stephen Cluxton.

Dublin opened their account through Kevin McManamon with a little under six minutes gone, and doubled their tally soonafter with Dean Rock pointing a free.

Lee Brennan was one of Tyrone's more impressive players throughout and with early ball, and direct possession handed to the full-forward line, it allowed both him and Connor McAliskey to florish.

Rock claimed Dublin's third point and his second from a placed ball before McAliskey was on the end of a good move, with Tyrone now turning over possession well, and showing great intensity.

Dublin's start replicated that of seven days previously against Kildare, but like that game they grew more in confidence, and in the 22nd minute just trailed by a point, following a Ciaran Kilkenny goal, after poor play by the Tyrone defence.

Kilkenny left one on one with Niall Morgan, and making no mistake to finish past the Tyrone shot-stopper.

Brennan kept Tyrone in front , before Kilkenny and Harte traded points.

Dublin could have taken the lead on the stroke of injury-time, but a Brian Howard shot came off the crossbar.

There was still time for further scores in injury-time, with Rock and McAliskey swapping points as Tyrone held a 1-7 to 1-5 interval lead.

Tyrone wouldn't score again until eight minutes of normal time remained on the clock, as Dublin came good.

Rock and McCarthy ensured the sides were level four minutes after the restart, before a 42nd minute Brian Fenton point put the visitors into the lead for the first time.

Dublin wouldn't relinquish this lead, and as wides began to mount up for Tyrone, Dublin grew in stature.

Kevin McManamon and Kilkenny points ensuring a 1-10 to 1-7 lead on 51 minutes.

Scores were at a premium at this stage, and Tyrone certainly had plenty of chances but struggled to convert them.

Niall Sludden eventually broke the dead-lock, but Dublin now looked good, with points from Brian Howard and Colm Basquel before substitute Eoghan O'Gara netted with his first touch on 65 minutes.

Dublin now led by 2-12 to 1-8, and there was no way back for Tyrone, although they did finish strongly with three of the final four points from Lee Brennan late on.
