A cheeky post on McGregor’s official Facebook account blamed the delay in announcing in the fight on the Irish fighter being “still busy counting the take from his last fight”.
He promised a “demolition job” against Dos Anjos, whom he provocatively labelled “a traitor to his people”.
If McGregor beats dos Anjos on March 5, he will join BJ Penn and Randy Couture as the only fighters in UFC history to win belts in two divisions, and the first to hold those titles simultaneously.
In the co-main event, UFC women's bantamweight champion Holly Holm, who dispatched the high-profile Ronda Rousey to claim the title, will take on Miesha Tate.
