Kildare manager Cian O’Neill couldn’t argue with his side's seven-point defeat against Dublin on Saturday, writes
However, he felt Kevin Feely, who had been impressing in midfield, was unfairly taken out of the game at a key juncture.
“There’s obviously a very strong correlation when Kevin’s commanding midfield and when we’re performing strongly in games,” said O'Neill.
“It was quite cynical in terms of what happened and the impact to his head when he was on the ground, but maybe that’s what the best teams do better than what we do.
“But when he got injured we went out of the game in midfield and that’s when the goals came.
“His calf had tightened from a bang he got on his leg and we moved him inside just to see if we could get anything out of that. Ultimately, he wasn’t feeling good so we took him off.”
