Bradley delights in USPGA win
Keegan Bradley won golf's final Major from five shots behind the leader with three to play tonight and with good reason said: "I can't believe it."
The new USPGA champion joins 2003 Open winner Ben Curtis in being the only players since 1913 to have triumphed on their first appearances at a Major.
Bradley said: "I had a tough finish last week [he shot 74 when in contention for the World Championship event in Akron], but a lot of people have been great to me since and it's because of them that I was able to fight back."
Fellow American Jason Dufner bogeyed the 15th, 16th and 17th while Bradley made birdies at the last two of those to catch him on eight under par.
It meant a three-hole play-off at the Atlanta Athletic Club and Bradley won it by one. He birdied the 16th and parred the last two, while Dufner parred the 16th, three-putted the 17th as he had in regulation play and birdied the last.
Dufner said: "Those are tough holes, but it was disappointing. There's a lot to be learnt from this."
Third-placed Anders Hansen, who came up one shot shy of the play-off, commented after a joint best-of-the-day 66, stated: "I'm very proud of myself.
"It's not been magnificent, but it's been pretty solid and it's good for the future."
