Boston Celtics overcome another huge night from LeBron James

LeBron James had his fifth 40-plus point game in the playoffs but it was not enough for the Cleveland Cavaliers as they lost 107-94 to the Boston Celtics in game two of the Eastern Conference finals.

The Celtics had a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series and restricted Cleveland to just 39 points in the second half after the visitors scored 55 in the opening two quarters.

The Cavs held a nine-point lead early in the third, but the Celtics inched back and only turned over the ball once in the last 22 minutes of play.

James, who finished with 15 points in the series opener, was on imperious form at the TD Garden, notching up a triple-double with 42 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds.

Kevin Love added 22 points for the Cavs, only one behind Celtics' leader Jayden Brown who scored 23 and added seven rebounds and three assists.

But the difference was made by Terry Rozier who dropped 14 of his 18 points in the third as the Celtics took a firm grip on the game.

The third game, in Cleveland, takes place on Sunday.
