There was a thrilling finale to the Munster Club Hurling Final at Semple Stadium in Thurles today, as Newtownshandrum beat to Ballygunner snatch the crown from the Waterford side in dramatic fashion.

It was the third time the Cork side claimed the provincial honours.

They lead by 0-08 to 0-07 at half time and stretched the lead to 0-11 to 0-08 at one point early in the second half before Gearoid O’Connor’s goal put the Waterford club in front after 46 minutes.

Two points from John O’Connor, along with another brace from Ben O’Connor, and a final point from John Paul king gave the Cork champions the victory.
