Meath 2-13 Westmeath 2-13
Dessie Dolan spurned the easiest of chances to book Westmeath¹s place in the Leinster SFC semi-final with a missed 21m free-kick in injury time at Croke Park.
In the end parity was the winner and the sides will do it all again after an amazing finale when Dolan, 1-7 for the day, went from hero to zero.
Hank Traynor scored a first minute goal for Meath and the Royals duly led 1-10 to 0-8 at half-time looking odds on for victory.
But things really kicked off in the second-half and Westmeath amazingly led 2-12 to 1-10 by the 52nd minute thanks to bizarre goals from Dolan and Paul Conway.
However, in typical fashion Meath fought back and in the 65th minute Graham Geraghty fisted home to put them back into a one point lead.
The excitement continued with Dolan levelling things up again with a converted 68th minute free but he couldn¹t wrap himself in glory moments later with a shock miss.
