O'Sullivan starts full-forward for Rebels

Cork's experimentation with Diarmuid O'Sullivan at full-forward will continue this Sunday when they clash with Tipperary in the Waterford Crystal Cup final (Páirc Uí Chaoimh, throw-in 2pm).

Cork's experimentation with Diarmuid O'Sullivan at full-forward will continue this Sunday when they clash with Tipperary in the Waterford Crystal Cup final (Páirc Uí Chaoimh, throw-in 2pm).

New Cork boss Gerald McCarthy will have another look at 'The Rock', who has been a regular at full-back since 1998, in attack as the Rebels bid to repeat last summer's Munster final win over Tipp.

O'Sullivan donned the number 14 jersey for the recent victories over Cork IT and Waterford.

There are three changes to the Cork team from the one that beat the Deise 0-16 to 2-9 last Sunday - Wayne Sherlock, who only made a brief appearance in last year's All-Ireland final, will make his seasonal bow at right corner-back.

Ballinhassig's Martin Coleman takes over in goals from Donal Sg Cusack, while Castlelyons attacker Kieran McGann will get a run at wing-forward, replacing Jonathan O'Callaghan.

Tipperary boss 'Babs' Keating, who has used a total of 24 players in this tournament to date, has made three changes to his side for Sunday's decider.

With left half-back Paddy Stapleton ruled out through injury, Roscrea clubman Diarmuid Fitzgerald, who was used as a forward last summer, returns to the defence.

Aidan Fitzgerald makes way for former dual star Colin Morrissey at midfield, while Kildangan powerhouse Darragh Egan, who is still only 20, replaces All-Ireland minor hero Pa Bourke up front.
