Rising Westmeath football star Finian Newman hasn't ruled out taking legal action after sustaining a freak jaw injury in a club game.

Newman, the Lakes County's U-21 captain, smashed his jaw when he claims an opposing Cavan player "ran seven or eight yards and planted me" during a challenge game last week.

Newman added: "People say I should go that road (legal action). I wouldn't rule it out. I have any amount of witnesses."
