In another full day of club fixtures, Shelmaliers have been crowned Wexford Senior Hurling champions after beating Naomh Éanna 3-18 to 3-11.

It is the club's first senior title in six years with goals from Ross Banville, James Cash and Seán Keane-Carroll seeing them over the line.

In Clare, Éire Óg bested Cratloe 1-18 to 0-15 in the earlier throw-in at Cusack Park in Ennis to take a spot in the quarter final of the Senior Hurling Championship, while the later match between O'Callaghan's Mills and Inagh-Kilnamona got underway at 3pm.

Éire Óg clocked up the same winning margin as Ballyea, who saw off Kilmaley 1-20 to 1-14 in yesterday's match, following Sixmilebridge's 0-21 to 0-12 win over Broadford.

In Waterford, Lismore's championship campaign came to an abrupt end, with last year's Senior Hurling champions Ballygunner easily see them out, 2-25 to 1-10.

The second semi-final result will mean Passage face the unenviable task of challenging Ballygunners title after they beat Mount Sion 0-26 to 1-21.

Mid Kerry ran out comprehensive winners in their clash against Kilcummin on a scoreline of 3-15 to 0-12, while West Kerry succumbed to St Brendan's Board, 1-15 to 0-14.

Kenmare Shamrock's beat Shannon Rangers in Kenmare 0-13 to 0-9, while Killarney Legion's game against Kerins O'Rahillys has just got underway in Fitzgearld Stadium.

St Kieran's will play South Kerry in the county's final match of the weekend in Austin Stack Park.

In the Dublin Senior Hurling Championship, reigning champs Cuala are still in with a chance of retaining their title, after beating St Brigids 1-26 to 2-14.

In the last quarter final of the weekend, Kilmacud Crokes will play Lucan Sarsfields at 4.30pm to decided the remaining semi-final spot, after Na Fianna and Ballyboden St Enda's secured their places yesterday.

Na Fianna won 4-20 to 2-10 to see Faugh out of the championship, while St Enda's defeated St Vincent's 1-18 to 1-08.
