Dublin selector Kennedy faces four-week ban

Dublin selector Greg Kennedy has been slapped with a proposed four-week suspension for the incident during Saturday’s Leinster SHC clash which saw him intercept a quickly taken Kilkenny free by catching the sliotar.

During the first-half at Nowlan Park, a TJ Reid free intended for Billy Ryan, and one which would have created a goal chance for the home side, was caught by Kennedy, who was on the field and standing directly beside Ryan.

Referee Cathal McAllister took no action at the time other than to order Kennedy off the field, but having examined the incident, Croke Park’s Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) have proposed a four-week suspension.

If upheld, Kennedy would not be allowed on the sideline for Dublin's game against Wexford this Sunday and their June 2 meeting away to Carlow.

Brian Cody commented after the game that it was a "bizarre" thing to do.
