The Cork County Board has discussed its continuing dispute with last year's hurling panel at its first scheduled meeting of 2009.

The matter was raised at last night's gathering, but all media were banned from the proceedings at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

The striking hurlers presented a show of unity at a press conference on Monday night and insisted they would not be backing down in their demand for reform of the County Board.

Cork GAA fans are due to hold a public demonstration next month to show support for the players' stance.
