Promising Cork attacker Declan Dalton is facing a period on the sidelines following a knee operation, it has emerged.
Dalton played in Cork's NHL opener against Kilkenny and came on as a substitute in the clash with Wexford, but will now have to rehab after surgery this week.
It is not clear how long the Fr O'Neill's clubman will spend recuperating, but he is unlikely to figure in the Rebels' remaining league fixtures.
Dalton won a Cork SHC title with Imokilly and an U21 title with Fr O'Neill's last year.
He was a member of the Cork U21 team that won a Munster title, before a shock defeat in the All-Ireland final.
