Cork County Board tonight ratified the appointment of Brian Cuthbert as Cork Senior Football manager on a two-year agreement.
Cuthbert, from Bishopstown GAA, captained the Cork minor team in 1993, scoring a goal in their All-Ireland title victory, scoring a goal in the final.
He also served as the manager of Cork's minor team in 2010 – 2011, when they won the Munster title but lost to Tyrone in the All-Ireland Minor Final.
Cuthbert is a primary school principal and coach to the Bishopstown Senior Footballers, who have reached the County Quarter- and Semi-Finals in 2012 and 2013 respectively. He is currently chairman of the Cork GAA Development Squads Management Committee.
Cuthbert will choose his own selectors.
The meeting also ratified Pat Kenneally as U21 Hurling Manager. The process of appointing a Minor Hurling manager is still ongoing.
