Thom Yorke "frequently" thinks about splitting Radiohead.

The singer - who has also released a solo album and is part of supergroup Atoms for Peace - admits he often feels like his group should go their separate ways.

Actor Alec Baldwin asked Thom in an interview: "[Paul] McCartney said to me even The Beatles got tired of being The Beatles. Were there times when you guys sat there and looked at each other and said, 'I think we're done?' "

Thom replied: "I do that frequently. Frequently."

Alec then asked whether the rest of the group felt the same, to which Thom replied: "Not as much. They just wait for me to do it. But it changes."

Thom was also quick to point out the band don't suffer differences of opinion about their songs, adding: "It's never really the music, it's always everything else. Just stresses of life, whatever."

Radiohead - which also includes Colin Greenwood, his brother Jonny, Phil Selway and Ed O'Brien - have played a world tour last year but are currently taking a break while the individual members work on different projects.

Jonny has released five soundtrack albums, and is composer-in-residence for the BBC Concert Orchestra, Phil released a solo album in 2010, while Colin is a keen photographer and Ed has played guitar on other artists' albums.

Despite Thom's comments, the band are expected to head back into the studio later this year to start on the follow up to 2011's 'The King of Limbs'.

Colin recently said: "We're taking some time out whilst people are doing some other stuff, doing their own things, and the plan is to get back together again [at the] end of the summer."
