Winehouse thrills fans at Oxegen Festival
Amy Winehouse thrilled Irish fans today as her open-air performance passed without incident.
The troubled singer, 24, put in a classic act as she delighted thousands of fans at the Oxegen festival.
Last month the Londoner, who has battled with drug problems, elbowed a fan at Glastonbury following her show.
Today delighted fan Phillip Taggart, 23, a student from Co Limerick, said: “She was brilliant, great atmosphere, she’s a real star.”
Her subtle saxophone-infused set lasted almost an hour before some of around 80,000 fans expected at Punchestown Racecourse this weekend.
Ms Winehouse performed singles including 'Valerie' and 'Rehab'.
She hugged backing singers, one of whom had to help her adjust her white dress.
Ms Winehouse has received treatment for her drugs problem and was forced to cancel a concert in Belfast last year on doctors’ advice.
