Robbie Williams is being lined up as a judge on ‘The X Factor’.
The ‘Bodies’ singer – who appeared in the 2009 series of the show, where he mentored the competitors and sang alongside finalist Olly Murs – is reportedly in talks to appear on the judging panel.
The 36-year-old star is now 2-1 odds-on favourite at bookmakers William Hill.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: “Robbie is the number one choice for judge. His common touch will make him a hit with fans.”
Last night, current judge Dannii Minogue took to twitter to deny reports she has been axed from the show after falling pregnant with her first child – who she is having with her boyfriend Kris Smith.
She tweeted: “No truth in me being axed at all.”
Dannii is due to take a break from the show’s auditions, as she prepares to give birth in July.
During her break from the ITV1 show, it has been rumoured a selection of pop stars and singers – including Robbie – could join the judging panel as guests.
Other rumoured artists include Ronan Keating, Paula Abdul, Mel B and Charlotte Church.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "The stars would attend all the auditions days in one city each. It would create an extra buzz and make the initial shows even more exciting. Simon thought it worked well on ‘American Idol’, so it is something he is willing to try."
Meanwhile, it has been reported Paula – who worked with Simon Cowell on ‘American Idol’ for eight years – is being lined up for the music mogul’s upcoming US version of ‘The X Factor’.
She said: “We’ll have to see about that.”
