Vorderman attacks 'snobs' Susannah and Trinny
Style gurus Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine are used to dishing out the insults – now they’ve been given a taste of their own medicine by TV star Carol Vorderman.
The Countdown queen described Trinny as an “anorexic transvestite” and Susannah “a cart horse in a badly-fitting bin liner”.
And she branded their BBC2 show What Not To Wear “mean television” which ridiculed the public in the name of entertainment.
The fashion pundits put Vorderman on their list of the world’s worst dressed celebrities last year so she has hit back with some comments of her own.
She told TV Times: “I saw the two snobs at the National Television Awards last year. One looked like an anorexic transvestite – with apologies to drag queens everywhere – and was known as Tranny, not Trinny that night.
“The other wasn’t exactly a clotheshorse, she walked more like a carthorse in a badly-fitting bin liner. And they have a go at everyone else!”
Last year Trinny and Susannah slated Vorderman’s choice of outfit for the 1999 Baftas, when she turned up in a revealing strapless minidress.
They sniped: “The problem with Carol Vorderman is that she went from kind of a librarian on Countdown to this sex goddess. She feels the need to show off as much as possible.”
Vorderman said she laughed off the criticism because she was “just a 42-year-old saggy-bellied mother-of-two”.
But she went on: “I don’t like mean television which ridicules members of the public who can’t fight back.”
