ONE HOUR PHOTO: Sy ‘the Photo Guy’ (Robin Williams) works as a one-hour photo developing technician in a local superstore. He takes his work very seriously and prides himself on taking good care of his customers.
But Sy takes things a little too seriously with the Yorkins, a local family seemingly living the American dream.
He starts keeping copies of their snaps and, in his own mind, becomes part of the family. His growing obsession with the Yorkins brings him into more and more contact with the unsuspecting family and he even considers himself Uncle Sy to their child.
Will the Yorkins discover Sy’s unhealthy concern with them? Will Sy be able to control the demons within, or will he take his obsession too far?
Robin Williams continues his transformation from clown to serious actor and does a good job of bringing the Jeckyl and Hyde-style struggle going on in the mind of Sy to life.
If nothing else, it’s a good advertisement for buying a digital camera.
