Tonioli nervous during Hawn dance lessons

Bruno Tonioli admits he was a "bag of nerves" when Goldie Hawn asked him for a one-on-one dance lesson.

The 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge was stunned when the Hollywood actress called him up and requested a private lesson, but admits he went a bit overboard with his costume.

In his new autobiography, 'Bruno: My Story', he revealed: "I was a bag of nerves. I completely overdid my costume ... I looked like such a pillock. She even paid double for the lesson - an indication of what a lovely person she was.

"But she never came back. Presumably because I looked like a prat."

While Bruno is famed for his loud and outspoken comments on 'Strictly', in his book he revealed the personality people see on TV is different to the one he has at home.

He said: "Like Simon [Cowell], I have two personalities, a public image and a private persona - one for the TV and another for me.

"By doing yoga and taking in everything around me - living in the moment - I've managed to find a nice mental balance. I'm hardly a saint. Screw me, I'm the opposite!"
